IDEOLOGICAL PERSECUTION OF ACADEMICS IN INDIA--A CASE STUDY OF JNU.

IDEOLOGICAL PERSECUTION OF ACADEMICS IN INDIA--A CASE STUDY OF JNU.

Dear friends from JNU
Greetings!
I plan to do an extensive study on the IDEOLOGICAL PERSECUTION OF ACADEMICS IN INDIA--A CASE STUDY OF JNU.
*
This requires data about students and faculty who had to face the 'LEFT-LIBERAL MUSIC' for not towing this or that line. Some students had to move out of JNU or their original discipline while some other had to say good bye to academics.
*
"Such was the terror of the likes of today's self-proclaimed dinosaurs and yesterday's EMINENT ACADEMICIANS of JNU!
*
Here is a CASE from the Centre of Soviet (now Russian?) Studies, SIS:

"In late 1980s-early 1990s, Mr Shankar Sharan , a CPI (Communist Party of India) whole-timer, registered for Ph.D in the (School of International Studies, SIS) to research on the "Organization of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union-CPSU". His guide was also a CPI member.
.
"Having visited Moscow in connection with his work, Mr Sharan had first hand knowledge and primary data about CPSU and differed with the party-line of his Ph.D  guide. The guide,  as expected, branded him ungrateful to the party/ ideology,  and rejected his thesis.
.
"The scholar too refused to compromise with facts. Finally, it cost the Scholar a decade-long court battle to finally get his Ph. D degree!"

I request you all to share your experience or
knowledge about those who were subjected to IDEOLOGICAL PERSECUTION at the hands of
their teachers/Ph.D guides.
You may please INBOX or email to:
cpsinghji@gmail.com

Thanking you in anticipation,
Chandrakant

(Note: I was lucky to have a guide who never towed any party line and continues to be internationally recognized for his contributions to literature. More than just a Ph.D guide, he turned out to be one of the finest human beings I have ever come across. Yes, sort of angel on the Planet RED that JNU was! )
